We heard earlier today that Learning Launchpad investee, Working Rite had been highlighted by the Tories’ work and pensions guru, Lord David Freud. Given that all the polls suggest the next government will be a Conservative one, this is pretty exciting news for Working Rite and the social entrepreneur behind it all, Sandy Campbell.

Lord Freud addresses Conservative party conference about Working Rite
Addressing party conference yesterday, Freud committed the Conservative party to learning from Sandy’s success – “Inspired by the successful Working Rite model, we will match up 100,000 teenagers with sole traders to get 6 months’ real work experience. Your first boss – one of the most important people in so many of our lives”.
Getting a policy commitment from the (dare I say it?) government-in-waiting is pretty major news but Sandy will have lots of work to do to ensure that the Working Rite model and methodology doesn’t get diluted along the way and that the annoucement leads to the social impact that he set up Working Rite to make in the first place.
